Happy Christmas!

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas!

First and foremost, please note that the garden will be closed from Sunday 22nd December and will reopen on Friday 3rd January for our usual Friday open session from 10-12 noon.

As we come to the end of the year we thought you would all like to see the fantastic progress that has been made with the cabin, by the brilliant team at Nordic Room UK. It is so exciting to see it take shape and it will be a wonderful asset for us all in the garden. It should be finished in January, do come and take a look if you have not been to the garden recently!

We also had a fantastic fundraising Christmas wreath-making workshop last Saturday. For the third year in a row our wonderful garden designer, Karen Blight, led a fantastic creative workshop with 40 people creating some beautiful wreaths. Many of the materials come direct from the garden, including willow which the team had woven into circular frames and which proved very popular indeed! The event raised over £800 for the garden which will really help with general running costs and projects that we look forward to putting in place next year.

Here are some of the stunning wreaths that were created:

Looking forward for next year we are keen to expand the team of volunteers, both with help running the sessions and also with specific skills such as administrative tasks (for instance help with organising DBS checks), IT and marketing skills (for instance with help keeping the website interesting and up to date) and construction (both practical help and for technical advice as we continue to create and develop the garden including raised beds, the woodworking area and so on). If you would like to get involved in any of these areas then we would love to hear from you!

Have a lovely Christmas everyone, and do join us for any of our open sessions in the new year. All are welcome every Wednesday afternoon 1-3pm and every Friday and Saturday morning from 10-12noon.
